Thank you for your interest in our Association.

Formed in 1968 our mission statement is to promote and further the cause of all types of western riding in the UK from show classes to speed events and the controlled movement of cattle. No matter what horse you ride, or what level you are at we can help.

We are the oldest western riding organisation in the country and are committed to the development and improvement of western riding at all levels with the emphasis on technique and discipline but, at the same time making it fun.  Indeed our philosophy is “If you’re not having fun you’re doing it wrong.”

You are supported in your western riding and enthusiasm by our own qualified judges and instructors and a graded examination system that is structured to encourage riders at all levels from the beginner to the international level competitor. 

We run major shows every year for our members, along with a number of open affiliated shows where you can join as a day member to “try before you buy” so to speak or just come along as a spectator.
